Craig England, the founding partner of England & Company, is an investment banker with over 20 years of experience in M&A advisory, financial restructuring services, and private finance. Mr. England is actively involved with the following industries: Energy Technology, Financial Services, and Software & IT Services.
Prior to forming England & Company, Mr. England was a Principal in Legg Mason's Investment Banking Group where he concentrated on software and financial services companies. Prior to Legg Mason, he was a Vice President with Alex. Brown & Sons in New York and Baltimore where he completed numerous financings for specialty finance companies. Additionally, Mr. England served as a Vice President and private placement specialist at New York City-based Hunter, Keith, Marshall & Co., and Corporate Finance Director for ICON Capital Corp. He began his career as a corporate lender in the financial institutions groups of the Irving Trust Company (now the Bank of New York) and the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce.
Mr. England earned his BA from the Johns Hopkins University, completed studies in International Economics at the Universite Libre de Bruxelles and received his MBA in Finance from the Stern School of Business at New York University.
Bruce Craig has over 20 years of venture
capital, M&A, operations management and technical experience
in the energy, communications and industrial technology industries.
Prior to joining England & Company,
he was a General Partner at Ideal Partners Fund, an energy and communications
technology venture capital fund. Prior to Ideal Partners, he was
Vice President of E3 Ventures, a hybrid venture-investment and strategic
advisory firm, and Director of Utility Regulation and Environmental
Affairs at the Natural Gas Supply Association. Previously, Mr. Craig
worked in corporate finance with Conoco Inc., as a Director in program
development within the US Environmental Protection Agency's energy
efficiency and pollution prevention programs, and led engineering
and business development teams for American Meter Company/Ruhrgas
AG.
Mr. Craig earned his BS in Industrial Engineering
from Lehigh University and his MBA in Finance from the Wharton School
at the University of Pennsylvania.
Tim Johnson has over 15 years of financial advisory and investment banking experience focusing primarily on assisting clients achieve strategic objectives through mergers and acquisitions. He has advised clients and managed transactions in a wide range of industries including healthcare, financial services, information technology, distribution, security, telecommunications, media and manufacturing.
Prior to joining England & Company, Mr. Johnson worked in Salomon Smith Barney's Global Mergers and Acquisitions Group and CIBC World Markets, advising clients on M&A transactions in a multitude of industries. Previously, Mr. Johnson worked in the Financial Institutions Group at Friedman, Billings, Ramsey & Co., Inc. Mr. Johnson began his career at Arthur Andersen LLP, working in the Financial Services Division of the Audit and Advisory Group where he provided accounting and consulting services to clients in a number of industries.
Mr. Johnson, a Certified Public Accountant, earned his BS in Accounting magna cum laude and his MBA in Finance from the University of Maryland. He also has been a Guest Finance Lecturer at the Robert H. Smith Graduate School of Business, University of Maryland.
Glenn Tofil has over 20 years of experience
in investment banking and strategic consulting. Mr. Tofil has been
an advisor to both public and private companies in numerous mergers,
acquisitions and restructuring transactions.
Prior to joining England & Company,
Mr. Tofil was a co-founder and Managing Partner of Founders Growth
Advisors, an acquisition and strategic advisory firm serving middle
market companies in the infrastructure and industrial technology
markets. Prior to Founders Growth Advisors, Mr. Tofil directed First
Union Securities’ Corporate Finance practice focused on electrical,
electronics and related industrial technology companies. He has
over ten years of investment banking experience with First Union
Securities, EVEREN Securities, and Ernst & Young. Prior to entering
investment banking, Mr. Tofil spent six years as a consultant with
Harlan Brown & Company, a Washington, DC-based strategic advisory
firm assisting clients in the assessment of acquisition opportunities
and new business development initiatives.
Mr. Tofil received his BA in Economics from
The College of William & Mary and his MBA from the University
of Chicago with concentrations in Financial Management and Accounting.
Tim Brown has over 15 years of experience in M&A, financial analysis, strategic planning, and financial management. He has advised clients or held corporate positions in a wide range of industries including information technology, telecommunications, web services, industrial technology, energy and manufacturing.
Prior to joining England & Company, Mr. Brown held investment banking and research associate positions at middle market investment banks where he advised both public and private companies in numerous mergers, acquisitions and divestitures. Previously, Mr. Brown served in corporate finance and strategy positions at AOL, MCI Communications and Time Warner.
Mr. Brown received his BS in Finance from Virginia Tech and his MBA from the George Washington University with concentrations in Finance and Investments.
Dennis Weissman is one of the nation’s leading experts in the clinical diagnostic laboratory and pathology sectors. Mr. Weissman was the founder of the Washington G-2 Reports, a leading national news and information company serving the clinical diagnostic industry, and he continues to serve as the company’s Executive Editor.
Prior to forming the Washington G-2 Reports, Mr. Weissman headed the Washington Office for the American Society for Medical Technology (now ASCLS) and prior to that served as Special Assistant to the Deputy Assistant Secretary for Health in the Department of Health, Education & Welfare. After completing a tour of duty with the U.S. Army at the Pentagon where he worked in White House and congressional liaison, Mr. Weissman began his first civilian position in the nation's capital as a government affairs executive with the American Optometric Association.
In addition to his work with England & Company, Mr. Weissman serves as President of Dennis Weissman & Associates, LLC, a consulting firm that provides strategic market intelligence, organizational support, and public policy and trends assessments, for laboratory organizations and related interests.
Mr. Weissman received his BA in Political Science from the State University of New York at Buffalo and his MS degree in Counseling and Higher Education Administration from Indiana University at Bloomington. He serves on the Board of Directors of the National Cervical Cancer Coalition and is a member of the Health Advisory Committee, School of Business Administration at Marymount University.
